Film Look In Video

This beautiful short video shot by Julien Mokrani comes very close to my favorite cinematic film view. It’s really nicely graded with a touch of noise in After Effects and flares shot separately.
Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark II of course.
Lenses: 50 mm F1.4 and 16-35 mm F2.8

StreetFest Video

StreetFest, is the first live art street festival in UK. StreetFest performers are drawn from a across the artististic spectrum ranging from creative painters, architects, designers, illustrators, skaters and writers who express themselves during the day through live demos, screenings and shows. This niche festival pulls together design styles and crews from all over the world.

7D or not 7D continued….

OK, so I came across this interesting discussion related to the new generation of so called HDSLR cameras. The video itself isn’t the essence. Read the description and the comments. It’s worth it if you play the game.

Arctic Surfing Video

A friend posted this breathtaking video shot – yet you guessed it – on Canon 5D Mark II. It was directed by Yassine Ouhilal.

STREETFEST is back

This Saturday 3rd October I have the pleasure to shoot video for STREETFEST again. After my last video shot on HV30 turned out fairly ok I’ve this time decided to go to town. I’m going to use three cameras.

1) Canon 400D positioned above the crowd and hooked up to my laptop to produce time lapse of the entire event.

2) Canon HV30 handheald to produce a natural home video look.

3) Canon 5D Mark II for all the fine footage.

Well, at least this is what the plan is. Let’s see how much of it actually works out. Watch this space!

Another time lapse in beautiful London

One morning Ben and I got up early, mounted my Canon 5D Mk2 on the dashboard using a hat and a piece of rubber and drove around London for 2 hours till the Sun came up. This is the result.

It’s official. Canon EOS 7D is out

I can honestly say that should I were more selfish I wouldn’t be sharing this one. My 5D Mk2 is now facing a strong competition from a much cheaper and more video focused sibling. 50fps at 720p and EF-S mount make it my number one on Christmas wish list.

My latest time lapse

This was shot in my living room over the course of two hours, two glasses of lemonade and Spanish gin and 3 episodes of ‘That’s my Bush’ on the TV.
