It’s official. Canon EOS 7D is out

I can honestly say that should I were more selfish I wouldn’t be sharing this one. My 5D Mk2 is now facing a strong competition from a much cheaper and more video focused sibling. 50fps at 720p and EF-S mount make it my number one on Christmas wish list.

Another spectacular piece made on 5D MK2

Created and directed by Robin Risser

I love the small subtleties  in this video such as the clash between the pure, clean and perfect aesthetic of the character’s suit mixed with elements of old and cracked furniture, broken umbrella and dust in the air. The story (or my twisted interpretation of it) makes me feel quite nostalgic. Don’t ask why. Just watch!

Great new knowledge engine

What is molecular weight of caffeine? What is x^2 sin(x)? How does San Francisco compare to Tokyo? WolframAlpha is an amazing science project. It’s a computational knowledge engine which generates output by doing computations from its own internal knowledge base, instead of searching the web and returning links. Check it! Know it! Love it! Spread the word.

Good thing they didn’t take the helmet design from the early prototype model in movie Brainstorm (1983):
